The AguaMater Pool System electronically releases copper and sliver ions into the wtaer where they destroy bacteria and algae-which are then filtered out by the AguaMasterPool. WHAT IS INOIZATION? The proces of an atom gainig or losing electrons is called ionization. The AguaMaster systems generates copper and silver ions in minute quantities for to destroy baceria and algae. IS IT SAFE? ... The technolgy was perfected by NASA to purify drinking water for the Apollo misions.The solid state electronic controls poduce very low current-like several flashlight batteries, enclosed in a weathertight case. The equipment meets UL stndards. HOW DOES IT WORK?  A safe low DC current lke that of several flashlight batteries is passed through a set of copper and silver alloy electrodes. As the water passes through the sealed chamber, metallic ions are generated to purify the water. The microscopic action of the ions are twofold. First, the algae and bacteria are destroyed through a change in their enzyme process. Second, all these charged particles floc together and then they are pulled out by the AguaMaster System into a sludge filter.
